November 2, 2008 - Vital Health Issues for Women
Like so many other women, our scholars today are running from sun-up to sun-down. Between school, home, kids, work, and homework there is barely time to breathe. Women today are so accustomed to putting the needs of everyone else ahead of their own, but this can all too often lead to disaster. During this workshop, scholars learn about some of the most important health issues facing women today. What should they do to protect themselves and what signs should alert them that there is a problem? Our scholars will learn that if you want to be around to take care of everyone else, you've got to take care of yourself.

Scholars will learn that the decisions they make in life concerning all relationships will have consequences, both good and bad. All participates will break into small groups to discuss the outcomes and Marie's decision and how her life mirrors many of their own.
April 19,2009 - Wonder Woman 101
How do we best get out of a bad situation? Try not to get into it in the first place. The focus of this workshop will not be on self-defense techniques but rather on making good decisions that will keep us from getting ourselves into a situation that threatens our personal safety. Lt. Bailey will introduce scholars to a variety of situations that could have disastrous outcomes. Scholars will learn what to do when faced with life changing decisions.
